Choosing a Marquee

Marquee Hire Choices in Hampshire.

Prior to even trying to decide on which Hampshire marquee to hire, we recommend that you first take into account 1) The purpose of your event 2) The place of the event 3) How many people you propose to invite & 4) How much you plan to spend?
 
1. Purpose of Event.
The type of event that you are planning will to some extent influence the type and size of marquee that is right for your Hampshire event. Take into consideration not merely the event itself, eg. wedding, beer tent, 21st birthday party, product launch etc, but what sort of activities would you like to take place inside the marquee.
 
Will guests be sitting or standing ? If food will be served, will it be a formal sit down meal or a buffet? Will you have dancing, and if so will you have a DJ or a band ? Will staging or raised platforms be needed ? Will you be having a bar inside of the marquee ? Do you want the marquee to be decorated (eg, for a wedding, themed party, or with corporate branding etc) ? If the marquee is for short-term storage, what security would you need ? Will you need a reception area ? Will you need a service tent ? Would seperate areas be needed inside the marquee, eg. childrens area or staff area etc. ?
 
Obviously the above list isn’t comprehensive, and the questions will change depending on the type of event you are planning for. But it will hopefully get you thinking about what the marquee needs to do for you to be perfectly suited for your event.
 
2. Location.
You may have not decided on the actual venue in Hampshire yet, but the location for your event will affect the kind of marquee that will be the most suited. Will the marquee be inside or outside ? On a hard surface or on a lawn ? Will the marquee be built on a level surface, or will it go over a sloping surface (eg. a rockery), or an unusual one (eg. swimming pool) ? Is it going to be on your own property, or on somebody else’s, and will permission/approval be needed from other parties who might be impacted by the marquee structure?

3. Number of Guests
Knowing how many people the Hampshire marquee hire needs to accomodate comfortably for the event is obviously a key element in determining the size of the marquee, and perhaps even the style of marquee. But you may be a little flexible over exact numbers of guests depending on the what else you have in the marquee, or the cost of the marquee. (As a general rule , we recommend you allow 8 sq ft minimum per person for a standing event, and 15 sq ft per person minimum for seated events.)

4. Budget
Setting a budget at the start is absolutely essential for most people, although a number of our clients are much more rigid with their specifications than the budget. We are happy to help anyone get what they want to the best of our ability, but it is naturally helpful for us to know as quickly as possible what our guidelines & parameters are.
